SCARBOn participation at the PESM 2026 workshop

At this year’s Plasma Etch and Strip in Microtechnology (PESM) workshop in Grenoble, the SCARBOn project was represented with a contribution showcasing recent progress in the development of miniature optical components for greenhouse gas monitoring from space.

Our colleague Melissa Hedir (UGA-LTM/CNRS) presented a poster on a new method developed within SCARBOn for creating tiny 2.5D silicon structures using grayscale lithography and precisely controlled plasma etching. These miniature structures, with height differences of just 25 nanometres, are an essential part of SCARBOn’s compact hyperspectral imager for measuring greenhouse gases such as CO₂ and CH₄ from space.
